Lithuania's Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis intends to set up a Crisis Management Centre under the government, which would be activated in case of an emergency.

In words, Lithuania currently does not have such an institution, which sometimes prevents decision-makers from receiving necessary information in time, along with specialist proposals on the vital decisions.

"When there is an emergency inside or outside the country, there is no top-level mechanism for decision-makers to receive timely information and make decisions," the head of the government told BNS.

In his words, the center would have staff of a few people, with other members delegated by state institutions.
