Traditional Casimir's Fair opens in Vilnius
The traditional St. Casimir 's Fair (Kaziuko mugė), one of the biggest events in spring, is starting in central and down-town Vilnius on Friday.
As the biggest event for traditional and folk craftsmen, it will include about 2,000 outlets this year, organizers told BNS. It will last until Sunday.
The event brings together craftsmen from across Lithuania and neighboring countries.
St. Casimir's Fair evolved from the Casimir's processions that date back from 1604. In 1827, Vilnius merchants were granted the privilege to hold a three-day St. Casimir's Fair.
