Some Lithuanian firms enjoy facilitated scheme for hiring foreigners

Migration procedures for foreigners coming to Lithuania to work have been simplified, while companies hiring staff from abroad can be included in the so-called white list.

"This way, it is now faster and simpler for Lithuanian employers can hire the foreigners who are needed for the country's labour market," Interior Minister Eimutis Misiūnas said, adding that visa issuing procedures had been facilitated.

Last February, the government approved a list of 27 lacking professions, including programmers, information technologies specialists, engineers and technicians.
