Lithuania to appoint new ambassadors to India, Armenia

The Lithuanian government on Wednesday gave the green light for recalling the country's ambassadors from India and Armenia due to the expiry of their term of office.

Under the draft decrees, Laimonas Talat-Kelpša, the ambassador to India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka, is to be recalled on Apr. 6 and Erikas Petrikas, the ambassador to Armenia, on May 14.

Lithuanian ambassadors are appointed by the president on the government's recommendation and with approval from the parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee.
