According to the preliminary statistics, 3,018 people left Lithuania last month (4,458 in January), while 2,598 immigrated (3,307 in January)

On year-on-year terms, significant changes in the migration statistics were reported this January, with 6,894 persons leaving and 1,700 immigrating in the country in January of 2017.

Earlier report from the statistics agency showed that Lithuania's population shrank by nearly 38,000 people over the whole calendar of 2017, with emigration being the main reason behind the reduction.
