Almost 80 kilos of hashish nabbed at Lithuania's border with Poland
Lithuanian customs officials have seized almost 80 kilograms of hashish hidden in a car that was pulled over for a check at the border with Poland, the Customs Criminal Service said on Wednesday.
The estimated street value of the shipment is up to 800,000 euros.
The drugs were found in hidden compartments under the floor and behind the dashboard of a Citroen DS5 driven by a Lithuanian national, identified by his initials D. M., returning home from Spain.
The car was pulled over at the former Kalvarija checkpoint last Sunday.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched.
