Lithuanian border guards' helicopter leaving for Mediterranean mission
Lithuanian border guards' helicopter Eurocopter 135 is leaving for an international mission in the Mediterranean Sea on Monday, the State Border Guard Service said.
The helicopter with a crew of three will take part in Poseidon 2018, a three-month mission against illegal migration. The aircraft is scheduled to leave for Greece at around 9 a.m. and, weather permitting, reach its base on the island of Lesbos on Wednesday.
The Lithuanian helicopter will take part in the mission from Jun. 1 to Aug. 31.
Poseidon 2018 is being organized by the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex).
