About 10 US troops injured as armored vehicles collide in southern Lithuania
Around 10 American servicemen suffered minor injuries when four US armored vehicles collided with each other in the southern Lithuanian district of Prienai on Thursday, a military spokesman said.
Two of the four US Stryker vehicles drove off the road en route to Kazlų Ruda, Captain Tomas Pakalniškis, spokesman for the Lithuanian Armed Forces' Joint Staff, told BNS.
US troops are taking part in the Saber Strike military exercise that the Baltic countries are hosting this month.
Eglė Kačinskienė, spokeswoman for the Alytus county police, told BNS that the road accident was reported at around 11:10 a.m.
She said that the troops' injuries were light and that no civilians were involved in the incident.
It is unclear at the moment if the Americans were taken to hospital.
