The Lithuanian parliament passed a law that provides for raising pay for soldiers in a unanimous vote on Wednesday.

As proposed by the Defense Ministry, soldiers' salaries will be increased by 10 percent this year and next year each and by another 5 percent in 2020.

Around 83 million euros are to be allocated for this purpose over a four-year period.
