Estonian, German culture ministers to attend Song Festival events in Vilnius
The Estonian and German culture ministries will visit Vilnius on Thursday and Friday to attend the Song Festival and other cultural events, the Lithuanian Culture Ministry said.
Estonian Culture Minister Indrek Saar will visit Song Festival events and the 13th edition of the Baltic Triennial, named "Give Up The Ghost", taking place in all three Baltic countries for the first time.
The Estonian minister will meet with his Lithuanian counterpart, Liana Ruokytė-Jonsson, to discuss the implementation of the Baltic countries' centennial programs and further steps to promote closer cooperation between Baltic cultural organizations.
Monika Gruetters, the German minister for culture and media, is coming to Vilnius on Friday to attend a ceremony marking the completion of the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania and to open an international exhibition named "The Saxon Electors -- the Grand Dukes of Lithuania: Court Culture and Art under the Reign of Augustus II and Augustus III. Exhibition of the Dresden State Art Collections".
