Lithuania's elite sees Darius Jauniškis, director of the State Security Department (VSD), as being the most influential among the country's civil servants and lawyers, Delfi.lt reported on Monday.

Vitas Vasiliauskas, the chairman of the Bank of Lithuania's board, is ranked second, followed by Dainius Žalimas, president of the Constitutional Court, in third place, Diana Vilytė, director of the Public Procurement Office, at number four and Police Commissioner General Linas Pernavas at number five.

Further down the list are Judge Egidijus Kūris of the European Court of Human Rights, Prosecutor General Evaldas Pašilis, State Ombudsman Arūnas Dulkys, Žydrūnas Bartkus, director of the Special Investigation Service, and Chief of Defense Jonas Vytautas Žukas.

The ranking was compiled by Delfi and the Reitingai magazine based on a poll of various elite groups, including politicians, business people, economists, pop culture and sports figures, media figures, public figures and civil servants themselves.
