R. Karbauskis wants changes in his party: R. Baškienė and A. Nekrošius to no longer be his deputies
With the Lithuanian Farmer and Greens Union (LVŽS) congress nearing, “Farmer” leader Ramūnas Karbauskis has spoken to party members, proposing to halve the number of LVŽS deputies. The party chairman would like to not longer have Seimas first Vice Speaker Rima Baškienė and Seimas Vice Speaker Arvydas Nekrošius as his deputies, LRT’s Laba Diena, Lietuva reports, according to lrt.lt.
According to LRT sources, R. Karbauskis contacted party members by letter, proposing to reduce the number of LVŽS deputies from 11 to 6.
R. Karbauskis, who, according to LRT sources, is being nominated as party chairman for another term, would no longer want to see Seimas Vice Speakers R. Baškienė and A. Nekrošius, Seimas Environmental Protection Committee chairman Kęstutis Mažeika, Rural Affairs Committee head Andriejus Stančikas and MPs Tomas Tomilinas and Viktoras Rinkevičius as his deputies.
Instead of them, R. Karbauskis would want Minister of Healthcare Aurelijus Veryga, MPs Jonas Jarutis and Valius Ąžuolas, as well as the party's executive secretary Kristina Kirslienė as deputy chairs.
