European film forum Scanorama kicks off in Vilnius
Over a hundred films from Europe and beyond will be screened during the 15th European film forum Scanorama that gets underway in Vilnius on Thursday.
The organizers say that the program of Scanorama, which will run until Nov. 26, includes the winning films from this year's Cannes and Berlin film festivals.
Gražina Arlickaitė, the founder and art director of Scanorama, says that this year's program puts a strong focus on German films, a result of long-term cooperation with the Goethe-Institut.
Almost half of this year's films were directed by women. Scanorama will host a special discussion on "Women in the Film Industry".
