As Lithuania's government has allowed schools to resume classes for primary schoolchildren as of next week and do so for elder children a week later, only a few schools in the country plan to resume normal in-class education, according to the information provided by municipalities , cited by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sports.
"The majority of schools – almost 75 percent – shave decided to continue the remote education process only. A quarter of schools will continue the hybrid method of holding some classes remotely and practical classes and laboratory work in schools," the ministry said in a statement.
It said almost 700 schools had provided information by Friday afternoon.
There are 1,055 schools and 320,000 schoolchildren in Lithuania.
